Do Families Contribute To The Indifference In The World Today?

We need to re-define the way we think about relationships

I use the word “family” to refer to the degree of relation to oneself rather than defining all the descendants of the same ancestor.

Therefore, in this article, when I talk about “your family”, I mean the relationship you have with yourself and those you hold close to that relationship regardless of whether they are bound to you by blood or not.

Although generally, people care about their biological families (parent-child-relative type families) more than they care about any other extension that doesn’t bind them by blood.

It is their obligation after all. At least it feels that way. All our belief systems support it as an essential part of human relationships.

Those that are disconnected from their biological families mostly have terrible experiences that keep them in a separated reality. The separation is equally a repression of this type of family connection.

The biological nuclear family is one degree removed from the relationship that one has with themselves. This relationship is so strong that it almost feels like an extension of the individual. For instance, a parent’s view of his or her child is so strong that…
