Ideas like the one bitclout has could create a way in which the value of someone's audience can be determined similar to the way stocks on the stock market are valued by things like their stock price. This ofcourse raises concerns and challenges of its own as well as its benefits. The death would mean that if for some reason, people accept this, traditional social media companies would have to reinvent their technologies to introduce similar metrics in their systems or risk becoming irrelevant. It is a stretch I know hahaha that is why this article only explores a possibility but not something definite. I hope that makes a little more sense.
