People’s captions on Instagram have always been a reflection of where they are in life. This is no coincidence. I remember the time my best friend and I split ways because he thought I was a looser that was dragging him down but I could make out from a song he wrote what the split was really about. There is no denying that self talk brings us into situations we find ourselves in whether good or bad. But what is it? where does it come from? How can we recognize it? and most importantly how do we make sure that it works to bring the best of experiences to us?…

We all have self talk which is in varying degrees of bad to good. There is not absolute. On one topic, our self talk may be beneficial while on another topic, it may be really disastrous.. But what is self talk?

  1. What Is Self Talk?

I have come to understand it as a language full of instructions with which we program and reprogram our mind. The mind is like a giant “ethereal” computer with each of us being an individual mind having our own programs but then collectively we form the universal mind that holds all minds like the mineral minds, plant minds, animal minds and human minds.

Using the human minds that we have, we are constantly talking to ourselves whether through the thoughts we have or even outright verbally speaking. Am sure you know or have met someone “thinking out loud”. This is the process I call self talk. It is normally done to help us…
