It's not distrust as such Roy. The misrepresentation part doesn't mean everyone in the community does it, I'm saying,... I'm saying that it happens a lot. But yes, your point is valid.. someone outside a community should partner with a member of the community to tell the story about that community. That can work. But I also find a lot of value in first hand accounts where lessons are learned not just by partnering up but rather being on the ground and getting to learn about those cultures first hand. I find that this helps people appreciate other cultures much better than if they are just told about it through another person's reality.
